When you are experiencing strep throat here are some tried and true remedies to keep from using antibiotics and protect and build immunity.
You can do as many baking soda mouthwash rinse as you wish. When making a mixture, 1 tablespoon in 1/2 glass of water, should be a saturated solution enough, then add 3-6 drops of hydrogen peroxide 3% if possible. Do the mouthwash or sip very small amount so it FLOWS slowly down the throat (in amount of say 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon every 5 minutes – but try the 1/4 for a child. For an adult it is closer to like 1/2 to 1 teaspoon. If done for about 20 times, most of the pain should go away.
If you want to make a specialized mixture JUST only the mouthwash and no sipping, then add 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, plus 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and 3-6 drops of H2O2 3%. If accidental swallowing, will cause loose stools, but sometimes the body needs to clear of itself of toxic buildup in the stomach.
To increase the body’s resistance, and in event of such sickness, usually 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda with a small squeeze of lime (such as 4 teaspoon) and some 1/4 glass of water and let the child drink that. Wait for the fizz to finish reacting for about 5 minutes. This will alkalize the blood to prevent the strep or virus from entering the bloodstream. Usually a biofilm is formed before a major cold is underway and sometimes adding 1-2 drops of iodine tincture helps breaks down the biofilm in a mouthwash situation, if that is the case.
Drink plenty of warm green tea, WITHOUT SUGAR AND WITHOUT MILK is necessary. You can do a swishing of green tea, in the mouth with a slow sip every minutes a much as you wish for this. The green tea will kill some strep, and break up the biofilm too. However, I will keep this green tea after the maximum mouthwash and sipping has been reached. Adding a pinch of sea salt in the green tea may further help kill, but this is usually not necessary unless the strep is aggressive and this kills the strep by hyperosmolarity.
Apple Cider Vinegar for Strep Throat
Add 1 Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a mug of hot tea – green tea, black tea, or herbal tea. Add raw sugar or better yet, raw honey to sweeten. Alternately, you can make a strong and tasty apple cider vinegar tea.
- 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tablespoon raw honey
- 6 ounces hot water
- Mix together and drink
If you add some powdered cloves to this tea, you will have medicinal benefit of the cloves as well as the pain killing properties of cloves.
Cayenne Pepper for Strep
- One tablespoon of pure honey ( I prefer Manuka honey) or Find local honey where the beekeeper doesn’t feed the bees sugar and doesn’t give them antibiotics.
- ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Four cloves of garlic pressed through a garlic press
Those are the proportions, but you’ll need more than that, so take four tablespoons of honey, one teaspoon of cayenne pepper and sixteen pressed cloves of garlic, and mix that all together. Take ½ teaspoon to one teaspoon of the formula every 30-60 minutes.
Don’t wash it down – let the honey coat the throat, then the cayenne, being a rubefacient, will bring blood into the area, and then your immune system will be stimulated with the garlic. Garlic is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral, so anything that may be causing the sore throat the garlic, along with the cayenne and the honey coating the area, will take care of the problem.
It’s very soothing and people who don’t even like garlic have used this and were shocked at how great it felt on their throat and how quickly it worked. During class one person had lost her voice and couldn’t even talk but within minutes had her voice back and the other people were saying “I didn’t even know what her voice sounded like” so it can be used for sore throats and other things too. It’s so simple but absolutely effective.
Goldenseal & Echinacea Spray
At onset Drink 2 ounces of colloidal silver every 2 hours for 3 doses. Gargle with colloidal using on ounce every 2 hours.
According to a May 13, 1999 report signed by Brigham Young University microbiologist David A. Revelli and BYU Professor of Microbiology/Molecular Biology Dr. Ron W. Leavitt, Ph.D…. …a colloidal silver solution was able to kill five different strains of the Streptococcus pathogen, at surprisingly low concentrations.
Here’s a brief synopsis of what the researchers discovered:
– a major cause of dental plaque and tooth decay. Inhibited and killed @ 5 ppm.
As you can see, in laboratory testing, extremely low concentrations of colloidal silver ranging between 1.25 ppm and 5 ppm were able to kill the strep pathogens tested.
Works Against Drug-Resistant Strep, Too! What’s more, in a clinical study titled “Bactericidal Effect of Silver Nanoparticles Against Multidrug-Resistant Bacteria,” published in the World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology in 2010… … it was found that silver was effective against even drug-resistant strains of the strep throat pathogen, Streptococcus pyogenes, as well as drug-resistant strains of several other pathogens.
The study authors stated: “In our study, silver nanoparticles exerted a bactericidal effect against the six bacterial strains… …there was no significant difference between the bactericidal effects of silver nanoparticles on drug-resistant and non-drug-resistant microorganisms. …the same nanosilver concentration inhibited 99.7% of erythromycin-resistant Streptococcus pyogenes, 95.7% of ampicillin-resistant E. coli O157:H7 and 92.8% of multidrug-resistant P. aeruginosa.” The researchers further concluded that silver nanoparticles exhibited bactericidal effect rather than merely bacteriostatic effect. This is important news, because it means the use of antimicrobial silver is so effective against drug-resistant strains of Streptococcus pyogenes, it outright kills them rather than merely inhibiting their growth!
Interestingly, colloidal silver’s ability to decimate strep pathogens has been known for over 100 years, as noted in the 1910 book, Use of Colloids in Health and Disease, by Alfred B Searle: “Silver in the colloidal state is highly germicidal, quite harmless to humans and absolutely non-toxic… …In the lab, all virus, fungus, bacterium, streptococcus, staphylococcus, and other pathogenic organisms are killed in three or four minutes upon contact.”
Green tea is preferred for treating sore throats to other treatment methods is due to the antibacterial property of the green tea. This tea prevents gingivitis and other periodontal diseases because it kills E. cole and the streptococcus bacteria. When you use tea to treat your infection, you kill the bacteria or microbes in the throat and also help your system to detoxify.
Green tea is also known to boost the immune system of the body. This is possible due to the high concentrations of polyphenols and flavonoids that speed the recovery time of the sore throat patient. Tea reduces inflammation and also strengthens the immune system and numbs the throat.
When you take green tea, you are supposed to remain calm and patient. This is because the treatment is not instant and the changes might be realized after sometime. Tea acts directly on the affected area (throat in this case) and either reduces or increases the amount of the antibodies in the body. It also has high levels of vitamins C and D which fights parasites.
