Combining cilantro with onion or garlic increases its ability to keep food fresh. It is also thought to be an aphrodisiac, and is mentioned as such in Tales of the Arabian Nights over 1000 years ago.

Cilantro, a member of the carrot family, is also sometimes referred to as Chinese Parsley or as Coriander. Cilantro is actually the leaf of the Coriander plant. Cilantro has a lovely fresh, grassy and lemony flavor. The Cilantro leaves look a bit like flat Italian parsley and, in fact, are related. Can be used to make teas, but more often used in cooking.
